Guided by the mission and vision of UDM, the College of Health and Sciences (CHS) has been in the forefront of providing our students with theoretical knowledge and related learning experiences that compliments with the values and attitudes fit for their transformation not only as a world class academician but also as a compassionate and competent clinical practitioner. Our care for the community and to respond and be of service to the health needs of the City of Manila in particular and the country in general rests on a solid foundation of our college anchored on the kind or brand of education that UDM seeks to perpetuate to the City and the country.

College History

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy are one of the pioneering programs in 1995. In the year 2014, these programs were amalgamated and placed under the College of Health Sciences. These two programs produced thousands of graduates with exemplary performance in the licensure examinations.

College Overview

Our programs involve the care of individuals, families, and communities with physiologic and pathologic conditions across all developmental stages. It is envisioned that the graduates will be able to apply quality service as they are equipped with comprehensive theoretical background and practical skills in consideration of the Ethico-moral and legal standards.

Meaning and Description:

  • The Lions symbolize courage and strength.
  • The Caduceus symbolizes of healing.
  • The Lamp symbolizes light and hope and comfort to those suffering.

The College Color

  • The College of Health and Sciences is represented by the color red that symbolizes the flow of a healthy life and courage among its patients. It is also represented by the color White that symbolizes purity and safety among its practitioners who must stay truthful to their oath at all times.

Programs

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year program consisting of general education and professional courses. It integrates knowledge and clinical nursing principles in providing holistic care. It also includes the theoretical basis of nursing care management. Students are taught the critical analysis of nursing concepts through assessment, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation of the profession’s aims and ideals.

 

Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy is a four-year program that produces professionals who promote optimal health and function by providing services that develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functional ability, for people with problems brought about by injury, disorders, diseases, conditions and aging. Present to this practice are the physical sciences, social sciences, health science and natural sciences.

Universidad De Manila is one of the two locally funded higher-education institutions of Manila offering free college education to the city’s under-privileged students.
