Pres. Tiquia Strengthens UdM’s Professional School

President Maria Lourdes N. Tiquia has recently appointed a new dean and two (2) chairpersons of Universidad de Manila’s (UdM) Professional Schools.

Leila Reyes-Gano, Phd is the new dean of the University’s Professional Schools. A world-class academician and researcher, Dr. Gano has more than twenty (20) years of teaching experience in various institutions of higher learning, presented various researches in conferences here and abroad, and is a mentor to many post-graduate students who are now occupying various positions both in the government and private sector. “Being the Dean of the Professional School is a challenge and I am up for the task. The plan is to update the curriculum, improve faculty profile, expand networks and linkages to various local and national government agencies, and revisit the institutions’ research agenda. I believe achieving this will steer the Professional School towards the direction in line with the vision of President Tiquia”, said Dr. Gano.

As an affirmation of Pres. Tiquia’s vision for the Professional School, Tiquia said that: “we are strengthening the Professional School by appointing a new dean and new program chairpersons to be competitive as an academic institution of higher learning and promote excellent programs befitting a professional school. I am thankful that Dr. Gano joined us because she brings a lot of experience in research with her work often published in local and international journals and presented in numerous conferences.”

Furthermore, two (2) new chairpersons were appointed by Pres. Tiquia, namely, Leny R. Dellosa, Phd and Professor Eric de Torre to head the Master in Business Administration & Entrepreneurship (MBAE); and Master in Public Management and Governance (MPMG), respectively. Dr. Dellosa earned her doctorate degree in Philosophy from Centro Escolar University (CEU) and has been an academician for more than twenty (20) years both in the undergraduate and professional programs. She has presented several researches in local and international conferences. Meanwhile, Prof. de Torres is in the final stage of his Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) Program at the University of the Philippines-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG).

In addition, UdM Professional Schools offers three degree programs that can be completed either through thesis or non-thesis track. Beginning School Year 2020-2021 onwards, a trimester academic calendar for new students shall be followed in all programs while old students complete their existing curriculum programs. UDM Professional School offers the most cost effective and affordable tuition and miscellaneous fees.

UdM is alocal university of the City of Manila established in 1995. UdM offers CHED and TESDA-recognized academic and technical programs catering to 100% Manileño.
