Despite the Odds, Strat Plan a Success!

The threat of Covid-19 and its latest Delta variant and the inclement weather that could potentially cancel the first ever Academic and Administrative Strategic Planning and Team Building is hanging over the administration of Universidad de Manila (UdM) like the proverbial sword of Damocles. By Divine intervention it did not fall.

The successful event is guided by the theme: “Envisioning UdM @ 26. The three – day event (July 23-25) was held at the Spanish-era Philippines themed Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar Heritage and Convention Centerin Bagac, Bataan. The stormy weather failed to dampen the spirit and sunny dispositions of all the participants.

This gathering of the minds led to the enrichment of the five- year (2021-2026) Institutional Development Plan (IDP) of UdM through the formulation of action plans related to the five agenda and their respective objectives. The event was attended by majority of the college deans and administrative heads lead by UdM President Maria Lourdes N. Tiquia. During the presentation of output to Pres. Tiquia she constructively critiqued every presentation based on the Agenda and emphasized what’s best to make the IDP succinct in form and substance that could strengthen UdM once it obtained its Higher Education Institution (HEI) status from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the very near future. Likewise, she also said that if one has to improve a system or create change it has to be “disrupted.”

After the event all of the participants underwent the Manila – required nasal swab for antigen testing and the results…all NEGATIVE!
